The Heart Of Following

The Heart Of Following

Are you a good follower? I believe by following someone you can become a great leader. I desire to be a good follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Sheep following the Sherpard

Paul says a very powerful statement in first Corinthians chapter 11 verse 1 NIV, He says; “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

‭‭Christianity is about imitating Christ! Imitating or following Jesus Christ shows the inclination of your heart. Our hearts should be inclined towards God. So, following God is a heart issue. In fact following Christ precedes leading God’s people. You need to follow God first before you become a shepherd!

Matthew 4:18-22
“And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.”

Jesus Christ said; “ Follow me,and I will MAKE you fishers of men.”
So if you want to become a great man, a great woman, you need to follow Christ. He is the one who can transform you as you follow Him.

Many people have ambitions to accumulate riches and have a certain status in society. This is not a sin but whats beautiful in the eyes of our Lord is when we choose to serve God wholeheartedly.

Jesus changed professional fishermen into transformational leaders. These men who followed Him transformed lives and changed communities by the Word of God. The deaf, those who were mute, the crippled were healed by His disciples. These disciples became dealers of hope in their society. Glory!

Amos 7:14-15
“Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah: “I was no prophet, Nor was I a son of a prophet, But I was a sheepbreeder And a tender of sycamore fruit. Then the LORD took me as I followed the flock, And the LORD said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’”
So, Amos was promoted by God from being a sheep breeder. He was a shepherd and God made him a prophet!

This passage of scripture says; “ Then the LORD took me as I followed the flock…” This speaks of serving. Amos was serving faithfully and God took notice of His heart.

Have you discovered from the Bible that God uses shepherds for great assignments. The shepherd is the dominant leadership metaphor in the Bible.
The patriarchs Abraham and Jacob were shepherds, other shepherds mentioned in the Bible- King David, Rachel, Moses, Amos and Jacob’s sons were shepherds. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior called Himself a good Shepherd. There is something special about being a shepherd!

I believe it is like this because shepherds have an understanding of the art of following and they have a sense of nurturing and fostering. Jesus says “…I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’” Matthew 26:31b

‭‭Ladies and gentlemen it’s in following that you become a great servant of God.

Let’s study the life of Peter for a moment.

Acts 4:13-14
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.”

Peter became a strong personality because of his proximity to Jesus. Proximity determines your potential!

You should be close enough to Jesus for certain breakthroughs. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you( James 4:8a)

As we are discussing about the art of following, it’s important to draw some lessons from Elisha.

2 Kings 19:19-21
“So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.”

2 Kings 2:1-2
“And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “ As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.”
After Bethel, Elijah went to Jericho and finally to Jordan. It was at this place Elisha received Elijah’s mantle- a reward of following with a right heart.

Elisha’s persistence and his steadfastness in following his mentor, Elijah caused an impartation to take place. There is an anointing that comes by serving and following someone( anointing by association- Saul is among the prophets)

Luke 14:25-27
“Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”

Jesus is teaching His disciple to value things of God more than things of this world. He compares the love we have for Him and the love we have for our parents, our children and our siblings. He is teaching them that they should love Him more than anyone else. He is not teaching us to hate our parents.

He is also teaching us to deny ourselves. Living a crucified life, living for others and living for God.

The Limit Breaker: No Limits, No Boundaries

A speed governor or speed limiter is a device that is used to regulate the top speed of a vehicle. I believe the enemy uses the same technology to stop us from advancing in life. He hates seeing acceleration. He wants to regulate our progression in life but in this service may the speed limiter, the purpose limiter be removed in your life! Get ready for progression in your life. It’s time to advance in your vision. Ignite and accelerate today!!!!

Let’s talk about the internet space for a moment. There are gadgets designed to boost broadband speed. There are power line adapters( to avoid fade in and out of connection throughout the day), wi fi boosters( extending your range preventing you from losing a signal from room to room) and there is smart routers( the gadget helps to enhance signal if there is a physical barrier).

Today I want to introduce you to a special person who is a limit breaker. This person can strengthen your connection with the Father in heaven. As He dwells in you- there is no fade in and out of connectivity with our Heavenly Father. He also gives us an extended range and there is no risk of losing signal, Our God is OmniPresent and OmniPotent. This Helper from The Father, removes barriers along our paths. He breaks chains. He moves mountains. He rolls stones on our graves! Praise the Lord.

He is the third person of The God Head, He is called the Holy Spirit- Parakletos. He is our Helper, our Comforter, our Strategist, our Counselor. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate, our Mediator and He is The Limit Breaker.

Luke 1:26-35
“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

Mary said I am a virgin, it’s impossible for me to give birth to a child but the angel of God responded with these powerful words; The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you!

The Limit Breaker- The Holy Spirit was going to do something supernatural. God wants you too to have a supernatural encounter, it might not be as spectacular as Mary’s but it’s still supernatural. What was impossible in your life will become a possibility! Scripture says not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says The Lord of Hosts.

There is a dimension of making progress by the power of the Holy Spirit. His grace can propel you to higher dimensions of progress. May there be massive progress in your life and your spiritual life.

Isaiah 54:1-3
“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.”
Barrenness goes in the presence of God. There many forms of barrenness but all of them can be removed when the anointing God comes upon a person.

There are many limitations and hindrances in our lives but these can disappear in the presence of God. You can only advance in life after the removal of these hindrances in your life. It’s time for you to experience expansion, you shall expand to the right and to the left.

Isaiah 10:27
“It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
Many people are not able to advance in life because there are yokes on their necks. People are moving around carrying huge burdens so it’s difficult for them to be successful in life.

The anointing oil is falling upon you today and every limitation is going under the power of God. The anointing oil makes your neck fat and this is what shutters limitations and chains in your life. The anointing of The Holy Spirit breaks chains of bondage and limitation. May every chain be broken in the name of Jesus Christ.

2 Kings 5:1
“Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.”

There are many champions who are plagued with limitations. This scripture Naaman was a great and honorable man. Although Naaman accomplished great things, he was a leper. The Bible says, “ He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.”

May God remove every “but” in your life. We see in the Bible many of heroes in the Bible had difficulties and challenges.

Moses was a stammerer. God used him to deliver the Israelites.
King David was a son of embarrassment but he became a great leader in Israel.
Rahab was a harlot and she brought deliverance to her family and she is mentioned in the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Solomon’s background was not all that great but he became one of the most successful kings- in fact the most prosperous king in history!

Every glass ceiling above your head is broken!
Every barrier is broken!
Every curse is broken!
Limitation lines are broken!
Defy every boundary set against you!

As limitations and boundaries are broken, I now decree and declare lines are falling in pleasant places for you and you have a good inheritance.

We all have a calling from God. When people hear about calling they are quick to think about pastoral work. We are all called, some are called to be lawyers, doctors, architects, scientists, etc

It’s crucial for us parents to train our children to discover their callings rather than train them to get good jobs. Most people work for money, but it’s important to work for a vision. Money should work for you to execute your vision. Unfortunately most people work for money!

Provision follows a vision! Vision always precedes provision!

Let’s study the calling and destiny of Jacob. Three weeks ago I shared from this passage; the voice is Jacob’s but the hands are the hands of Esau.

Genesis 27:21-24

“Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.” So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, and he felt him and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him. Then he said, “ Are you really my son Esau?” He said, “I am. ”

In the above passage, Isaac wanted to release a blessing to his favorite son, Esau. Rebekah wanted the blessing to be given to Jacob. So, in this set up who was right and who was in right standing with the design of God concerning these two children?

Sometimes as parents we are caught in this similar trap, trying to impose our will as we lead our children. The Bible exhorts us to train up a child in the way he should go. It’s not the way we want him to go!

Genesis 25:21-23

“Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

The Bible records that after inquiring from the LORD, the younger was chosen and was predestined to above his older brother Esau. As we raise up our children, let’s inquire of the Lord about their destinies here on earth.

I believe there are certain things we cannot question God. Before birth, Jacob was chosen and marked for greatness. You are also chosen before you were formed in the womb. This is the sovereignty of God, an act of His Pre-eminence. He is the Potter!

Romans 8:28-31“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, and these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Psalm 40:6-8

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

Your identity is within you. Your destiny is within you. Your purpose is within you. It’s all been written on your heart by the hand of God. Everything is wrapped up in design, the design of God.

Hebrews 10:5-7

“Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ”

Books of destiny in heaven. We have to know how to open these books and read from the books.

Let’s look at this scripture in Isaiah Chapter 29 verses 11-12

“The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I am not literate.”

Genesis 27:41-42

“So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” And the words of Esau her older son were told to Rebekah. So she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, “Surely your brother Esau comforts himself concerning you by intending to kill you.”

I want you to see how God manoeuvres when someone is in their divine purpose. In the above passage, Esau wanted to kill his brother Jacob because he felt cheated and deceived.

Let’s read this account from the book of Genesis Chapter 33 verses 1-4; 8-10“Now Jacob lifted his eyes and looked, and there, Esau was coming, and with him were four hundred men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two maidservants. And he put the maidservants and their children in front, Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last. Then he crossed over before them and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.

Then Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” And he said, “These are to find favour in the sight of my lord.” But Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; keep what you have for yourself.” And Jacob said, “No, please, if I have now found favour in your sight, then receive my present from my hand, inasmuch as I have seen your face as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me.”

Wow that which was meant to tear down the family was turned by God. There was reconciliation

They were all blessed and were walking in the perfect will of God and strife was no longer there. The conclusion of the matter is, if you are called nothing and no one can destroy you. Its only you who can mess up but God can still come and help us.

Be blessed

Building Kingdom Relationships

I believe with the social distancing and this lockdown, we have to be intentional in maintaining our relationships.Because this pandemic is causing not to come together in a normal sense, but you and I through wisdom we need to maximize on whats happening and intentionally we begin to build these relationships. Relationships are key for our development and advancement in life. So for us advance in live we need each other.

Someone said they are two currencies in any environment. There is performance currency. This is generated by strong performance. There is relationship currency. This is generated by how you invest in relationships.I believe we haven’t done much investing in relationships we do well investing in other things and its good but if we tap into a dimension of now investing in relationships. For this to happen we need to know how to engage and connect to people.
There is also what is called relational capital, this is so powerful. This can happen on personal level and also in business. When we talk about business, how you relate with different stakeholders is crucial for the growth of your business. So as a marketplace leader begin to grow in how you manage and treat your relationships.

The Quality Of Your Life Is Built On Quality Of Your Relationships.
If you to look at the quality of your life it is in relation to how you have been investing in relationships .Even in our family structures if we know how to nature those relationships we can leave a fairly good life. You can benefit from support structures closer to you. This only happens when you create quality relationships. This doesn’t happen automatically by the way you have to be intentional. You have to be intentional to say i want to build long-lasting relationships that is meaningful, powerful and dynamic relationships. It takes our energy, time and hard work to build these relationships Relationships thrive because we are investing in those relationships.
From scriptures we see how King David established powerful strategic relationships during the time of his reign. Solomon, his son cashed in, he maximized on his father’s relationship with Hiram king of Tyre.We should come to a dimension where we even create relationships that will benefit the next generation our, children. This cause then not always to sweet or work hard for everything but they can take advantage of the relationship we are creating now.

2 Chronicles 2:3-6; 11-13
“Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying: As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me. Behold, I am building a temple for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, for the continual showbread, for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the New Moons, and on the set feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel. And the temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him?

Vs 11 to 13Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: Because the LORD loves His people, He has made you king over them. Hiram also said: Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal house for himself! And now I have sent a skillful man, endowed with understanding, Huram my master craftsman.”

David I believe made a huge investment in this relationship with Hiram, the result his son Solomon although he was inexperienced he rode on his father’s coattails. Solomon was a young and inexperienced but that gap was narrowed because of a strategic relationship.
There is a dimension where people don’t have to do everything for themselves they can ride on someone’s exploits. So if you are a father be intentional to blaze through certain exploits and allow your children to benefit from these coattails.

The Bible records Solomon’s fame. His success was phenomenal because his father was able to set him up for success. The Word of God says, a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children( Prov. 13:23a). What legacy are you leaving for the next generation?

It’s time we have a mindset of setting up our protégées, our successors for success. Create a powerful platform for someone taking over from you to start from, be it in business, in ministry, in politics or at your workplace.Dont destroy what you worked for before someone takes over great leadership is seen when our successor are able supersede our exploits. The next person who takes your office should find it easy to take that vision to the next level. If you are able to do that it means you are a good leader
.The greatest leader Jesus Christ molded something we see His disciples doing might exploits after HimThey were able to spread the message of the Kingdom of God to other nations because their master was able to set them up .As leadership will also follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.Lets not destroy everything because of term is coming to an end .Lets create this pattern not only in church but in government, politics, in families and in business etc. Thats what we all need to emulate.

Let’s look at another powerful passage that illustrates this powerful principle of building strong relationships:

2 Samuel 9:1-7
“Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, “ Are you Ziba?” He said, “At your service!” Then the king said, “ Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet.” So the king said to him, “Where is he?” And Ziba said to the king, “Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.” Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar. Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he answered, “Here is your servant!” So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”

For us to establish meaningful kingdom relationships, I believe it is important to upgrade the quality of our conversations. Let’s shift from discussing people and move to a dimension of discussing business ideas. Discussing issues which are beneficial for our growth be it financial growth, spiritual growth, relational growth, is very important.

David and Jonathan developed deep intimate conversations. It’s time we learn to build a circle of friends that will lift us higher. It is said we are most like our five closest friends.

There was a phrase which was coined during the days of Jesus’ ministry here on earth, “In the dust of The Rabbi”. In the dust of the Rabbi was a phrase describing a relationship Jesus had with His disciples. They were so close to him. Their proximity to Jesus caused them to take the gospel to four corners of the world. These disciples caught something from Jesus Christ. They were so passionate, some to the point of being killed for their faith. May we also have passion to preach the gospel and become soul winners in the Kingdom of God.

Apostle Gbenga

1 Thessalonians 5: 11 NIV
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Let’s quit pulling down each other, the crab mentality! Be a builder in every relationship God gave you. Be a giver, not just a receiver!

Dealing with duplicity is also key if we are to establish meaningful relations. DUPLICITY KILLS KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS. Duplicity is the state of being double or two

Be blessed

Numbers 32 vs
5-6 Therefore they said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan.”

6 And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: “Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here? 7 Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord has given them?

When I came across this scripture another one came to my mind
Leviticus 26:8
Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.

Together Each Achives More(TEAM).The mentality of being self centred discourages other people and kills the the drive in them and from this scripture God sees it as a sin. These Reubenites wanted to occupy a space achieved through team work but they didn’t want to help the same team members to achieve their own goals as well.May God change our hearts.Lets seek opportunities to be a blessing to each other.

Willingness & Obedience

Psalm 110:3 says Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power .It stands to reason that in the day of God`s power, people should be willing. These days the body of Christ is struggling with willingness because there is no more power, people are just Christianised< and wait for the day of departure on earth. The days of powerless sermons and prayer meetings are coming to an end. His house is a house of prayer but also a house of power. Pastors and leader will no longer be carrying the burden of the church alone God `s people are becoming willing and even desire to evangelize as the Spirit of God is moving the hearts of His people. Amen.

Your relationship with God will become more exciting and meaningful if you avail yourself to serve, when are quick to say yes to Him. The blessing of God will rest upon you and your children`s children

Job 36:11

“If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. “Living a life of obedience to God and serving Him does not only release grace for prosperity, there is also longevity attached to it. That`s why we that see people who serve God it seems they are always fresh and passionate. Those who obey God and serve Him shall enjoy long life, many YEARS not days of great prosperity and Godly pleasure. Some people think its burdensome thing to serve God, it`s not. The psalmist puts it this way; “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.” Psalm 23 verse 6.

God’s mercy is something we need to pray for every day. As you dwell in the house of God goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life. Isn`t this a beautiful lifestyle of being followed by goodness and mercy every day. Hallelujah.

Isaiah 1:19-20

“If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

I said it earlier on that The Holy Spirit gives us spirit of willingness to obey God. People find it to difficult to obey God, there is no willingness to be fully committed in serving The Lord. That is why it’s a challenge for certain dreams to be realised because many people they need to pushed and motivated all the time. The Bible records this concerning our Lord Jesus; “how much more shall the blood of Christ, who THROUGH THE ETERNAL SPIRIT OFFERED Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

So, there is certain willingness and obedience that comes by the aid or help of The Holy Spirit. To be fully devoted to the work of God, we need the power of The Holy Spirit. Without the aid of Him it’s easy to cry out I’m tired and I want to quit your flesh is always warring with the spirit. You were created to serve God.Some of us God touched us but its still hard to serve God the fingerprits are there I your life that your life was transformed may there be a change of heart

Leviticus 25:18-22

“‘So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety. Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety. ‘And if you say, “What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?” Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years. And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest.”

Instead of living all your life in fear of lack, live in obedience. Obey the statutes of God and you will be ensured of safety and fruitfulness. Imagine this scripture says do not worry saying what shall eat in the entire year without sowing in our fields. God says I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring a bumper harvest which is enough for three years. Glory! Imagine that it`s a challenge for people to just spare one  day to go for a church service fearing that they will lose some deals or they have ground cover .Profitability in the kingdom of God it’s not about work it’s about obedience. This word is saying do not worry saying what shall we eat.

Apparently, the land responds to our obedience. If you disobey God the land can vomit you- scripture reference Leviticus 18 verse 25 “For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. “There a dimension when you live in disobedience the land vomits you, no produce from the land ,the land cooperate with  those in obedience to God .Think about how the land is responding to you are working hard and producing little or work a little bit then a bumper harvest

Let’s look at this scripture with a powerful promise of blessing and recompense:

Leviticus 26:3:13

“‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. ‘For I will look on you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright.”

Check out verse 5 of the above scripture: Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing;

This is saying there shall be so much grain- abundant provision, those responsible for reaping and threshing in the month of March will not finish their work before the vintage which is around July.

The vintage shall last till the time of sowing. This means there will be abundance of grapes. Those gathering and pressing the grapes will have a tight schedule to finish before the sowing time arrives again in October. Oh my my! This is the God we serve!

Amos puts it this way; Amos 9:13; ““Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “When the plow man shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it.”

God ushering is ushering us into dimensions of fruitfulness .Do not faint but position yourself to receive your blessing. He is about to change your world.

In closing I decree and declare these 14 Leviticus blessing upon you:

1. God is giving you rain in it’s season. It’s your due season. The former and the latter rain coming in one season. Joel 2:23.You will see the former and the later rain. You should be able to hear the sound of rain.

2. The land shall yield her increase unto you. There is fruitfulness all around you. May God give you the few of the heaven and the fatness of the earth .Genesis 27:28.May God give you the dew of heaven and fatness of earth.

3. Abundant grain and harvesting and threshing will be from March to July but the workers will still be behind your schedule.

4. Grapes in abundance, gathering and pressing of the grapes up to October. In October your workers will still be gathering and pressing the grapes. No more idleness in your life up to October. There is going to be activity

5. You will eat your bread to the full. You will have more than enough as Jehovah El Shaddai the Double Breasted One nourishes you and your household. The key is obedience.

6. You shall be compassed by God’s peace, dwelling in your land safely. Nothing shall disturb you. You shall fear nothing. Nothing shall disturb your peace. You shall know that you are protected. Nothing missing nothing broken in your life.

7. All the beasts in your land shall be taken away. You are redeemed from the power of the sword. Anything assigned to torment you shall be removed actually you shall be the one devouring.

8. Five of you shall chase a hundred and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight. Your enemies shall fall before you. As we come together in fellowship we cause great things to happen. How great it is when brethren come together in unity it like anointing oil flowing from Aaron is head.No more strife.

9. God will look upon you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm His covenant with you.

10. You shall eat the old harvest and clear out the old because of the new.

11. God shall set His tabernacle among you. He shall dwell in you. You shall know your Lord as Immanuel- God with us.

12. The Lord shall walk among you and before you. He shall be your God and you shall be His people. The apple of His eye!

13. You shall no more be enslaved. No more bondage. “When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. God shall fill your mouth with laughter in this season!!!

14. God is breaking the bands of your yoke. The yoke shall be destroyed by reason of the anointing oil. To whom the Son Has set free is free indeed! Be free in Jesus mighty name!

It was in 1894 when Messrs. W.H Haddon and JW Sly two shopkeepers decided to consolidate their shops into one shop to out maneuver the competition in Bulawayo. Everything had to be hauled up from South Africa by ox wagons remember it was only 1894.

One thing you need to know as an entrepreneur is that these two had to overcome their own challenges encountered in their generation just like today`s socio- economic challenges they had their own fair share. Rinderpest struck and ravaged oxen with Bulawayo bound goods and they had to step up and use mules to collect those goods transporting them up to Matabeleland.

In 1896 Mr Sly had to go to Capetown to receive his bride Miss Theresa Sanders, who had sailed from England to marry him. She was temporarily left in Capetown after the wedding because there was  1st Chimurenga in Rhodesia .Her brother Arthur Sanders also came to settle in Rhodesia and worked Haddon and Sly for a while later on to open his own store in Salisbury and named it Sanders.

Haddon and Sly grew exponentially that by 1928 they had opened a branch in Salisbury  in Stanley Avenue upto 1960.Back in Bulawayo it had flourished to be  a giant departmental store ,developing the concept of one stop shop. In 1987 they returned to Salisbury again  but this with a dress shop which they opened in Newlands. It had accessories, and has goods on offer seen nowhere else in Zimbabwe .Many of the clothes where produced by their own clothing factory in Harare. That time they were also manufacturing children`s and babe`s duvet covers and bedding.

1Passing the button to the next generation

As  an entrepreneur you should be able to study someone`s success story and implement one or two.The reason why this business survived different kinds seasons for  more than a century is their family tradition of service for example Mr Haddon without children but   Mr Sly `s sons, Stanley and John, joined the business in 1923 and 1925 respectively .When they retired early 1960s ,John Sly`s two sons, Anthony and Richard took his place as joint managing directors and later on down the history Nigel ,Richard`s son joined and Anna Smith ,Anthony`s daughter ended up with her haute couture.

2 Excellent Human Resources  management

Haddon and Sly have a rich history of treating staff as family one of such events is when they celebrated their 75th anniversary ,they took  the entire staff complement of about 260 people to Victoria falls for the weekend ,all expenses paid for by the company ,The shops closed for the whole weekend upto Tuesday morning only to open around 10 am .

I believe we can learn from this giant  and build our own generational  business and visions

Numbers 21:16 From there they went to Beer, which is the well where the Lord said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.” 17 Then Israel sang this song:

“Spring up, O well!
All of you sing to it—
18 The well the leaders sank,
Dug by the nation’s nobles,
By the lawgiver, with their staves.”

It’s amazing to note that when the children of Israel wanted a well of water they dug it by singing ,.

Singing just means to testify,to Amen the word,it also means to decree. It also means proclamation hallelujah. Psalm 68:11
says The Lord gave the word;
Great was the company of those who proclaimed it:

Many people in body of Christ they haven’t tapped into the power of appropriating the word prophesied in their lives. Just because God said it doesn’t automatically cause it to happen in your life .You need to speak it ,declare it and proclaim it and christianize it until every fibre of your being starts to believe it .
.There is need for perseverance and sometimes its over and over again until the small cloud appears on the horizon.

Do not give up too early its too costly go all the way sometimes to the seventh time you will see a small cloud ,a sign of rain.

God is releasing mantles to empower His power. God is wanting us to be empowered and be effective

Revelations 1:6

and has made us [a]kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

We are called into higher dimension .We have a duality authority as the kingdom citizens. When it comes to the marketplace we have something to say and when it comes to the church we have authority too. So that’s our dual responsibility. We are kings and priests unto God.We don’t to just christianize everything we are more than that hallelujah.

We are also wearing priestly garments so that the kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of our Father in Heaven. We need to understand that every king has a domain and a throne. It means you have a place where you reign on behalf of God. May you discover your domain that you begin to represent Christ well. In fact we are told to occupy until He comes. It’s time for us to be seated. It’s not a normal seating but its positioning ourselves that we begin to reign.

A throne is a seat of power you might even be raised up to seat on the board of your organization that can be seat. Its your position to make critical decision and evangelize. You are given a responsibility to drive a vision that’s a throne. These thrones are given to faithful men. We see that Joseph was faithful wherever he was placed.

Matthew 24:45

God looks for faithful people and give then responsibility to manage His resources and His things. Joseph was given a seat by Pharaoh not to just become a powerful person, but it’s a seat to serve. I want to encourage you to be faithful wherever you are serving right now. There are chairs that God is setting aside for faithful people.

What is a Mantle?

The Hebrew word for mantle is  addereth and the definition is glory. It means splendor, it means majestic ,stay with me alright.

Another way to define it is a  cloak made out of fine linen. A priestly rob. The mantle is also ephod

1 Samuel 30:8

As we put on the priestly garments we begin to recover even the losses we incurred in the lockdown. Pursue overtake and recover all. Surely we will recover but we need to think about first pursuing that vision that dream and we will overtake and eventually recover all.

The priestly garments were set apart for priests from the tribe of Levi. We see here David who is from the tribe of Judah putting on the ephod .We know that the bible says nothing concerning priesthood about the tribe of Judah being involved in the priestly roles. David did put on this ephod out of revelation. He discovered that there is a higher priesthood than the priesthood of Levi. Remember he heard a conversation from Psalm 110 .So we are saying David asked for the ephod because he had the revelation of the priesthood of Melchizedek which is loftier than the priesthood of Levi which is the priesthood of Messiah.

From 1 Samuel 30:8 we discovered that David was discouraged people talked of stoning him but he rose up from that by putting on the priestly garments. May you also rise up from what`s happening from your life. His own army was desponded .When he took his position in the realm of the spirit everyone was encouraged and wanted to pursue, they wanted to carry on with the vision. People around you might think that it’s over but as you rise up in your ephod they will respond favorably

You also need to understand that without this mantle there are certain things that you cannot recover or certain limitations that you cannot break. Things like generational inequities in our bloodline. These are broken as we put on the priestly garments. This will also help you to become a trail blazer in your family in certain areas that you were struggling with. You will be the first one to breakthrough and do something that has never been done in your family. These garments also acts as weapons of warfare in the realm of the spirit

1 Kings 18:46

New King James Version

46 Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded[a] up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Ahab was able to overtake the chariot of 4 horses .There are things we need to overtake in this season it might be poverty whatever it is, we need to overtake them as we put on our ephods. Your success is not based on only your qualifications there is something much more than that  Gideon used only 400 men .Gideon was told go in the strength you have .You are going to be victorious because of the mantle upon your life

1 Samuel 15:24-27

New King James Version

24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”

26 But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

27 And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.

Saul despised the priestly garments on Samuel the moment he tore the garment that’s the time he lost his kingdom it was not only the cloth he was touching, it was more than that .We also see that the woman with the issue of  blood also touched the garment of  Jesus Christ she was healed. She touched with revelation. My prayer is that we will not be like Saul who despised and perished but be like the woman with the issue of blood who touched the garment of Jesus Christ with revelation and was healed.

Numbers  20:22-28

New King James

22 Now the children of Israel, the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. 23 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor by the border of the land of Edom, saying: 24 “Aaron shall [a]be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against My word at the water of Meribah. 25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor; 26 and strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; for Aaron shall be gathered to his people and die there.” 27 So Moses did just as the Lord commanded, and they went up to Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. 28 Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

The moment Aaron erred he was protected by the priestly garments .You see Aaron and Miriam complained against Moses only Miriam was struck with leprosy  Aaron was sparred because he had protection of the priestly garments. Aaron also together with Moses were told to speak to the rock and they disobeyed and they hit the rock again he was spared but the moment they took off his garments he died. The mantle was there to preserve him. Most of us was are preserved because of the mantles that God is releasing in our lives. These mantle can preserve your business, your family and they can preserve your vision as well .May we walk we revelation upon which God is releasing in our lives

2 Kings 2:9

New King James Version

And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”

Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” 10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven

You have to see in the realm of the spirit to discover your mantle. Get ready to receive this mantle as your leader ascents or shift his position you need to be positioned to receive his mantle. Mantles are set for those who are loyal. Elisha was able to receive his mantle because his relationship with his father in the spirit was not affected by what people said. May you not miss the time to receive your mantle.
