Though writing and blogging doesn’t give me money, at least for now, it affords me self-expression. If you study those well-to-do families, particularly in western countries, they encourage their children to invest in at least one liberal arts activity. Since at the college they don’t focus on studying expressive, emotional and spiritual growth books but industry centered books, the commitment to self development lies with an individual. Parents will have to cover those gaps for their children.
Colossians 3:16-17
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
We shall not live two distinct lives, that is sacred and secular lives, whatever we do, God wants to find expression through us. Whatever we do in word or deed, let it be done in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As believers, we should master the art of self-expression, fellowship and influence. God is creative and so are we.
It might be stand-up comedy, playing violin, golf, salsa, or guitar playing. The poor communities shun these skills, probably because we want straightforward ways to make money, it’s always money and survival, but what do the wealthy communities know? These artistic skills help their children to be more articulate, which help them show up in life unapologetically forceful. There are people who are articulate in business ideas pitching, most likely they were in public speaking clubs. They might have an obscure vision, but because they are more compelling in speech, they will end up getting the funding than unpolished youth with a powerful vision.
One of the reasons why crime is rampant in slum areas outside lack is because of limited ways to express the energy in youths. There is this cry from the juveniles to find expression in our societies. The only few ways available are crime, orgies, and violence. When they discuss youth empowerment, they think about only economic growth, but give those youths money without the room to express themselves, and you will see the bad side of money.
Liberal arts like writing, videography are modifiable according to one’s flair, unlike our traditional jobs like a bank teller, which are methodical.
You shall not be a boring businessman, minister of the gospel, mother, or father.
We should have something that can appeal to the soft side of the people around you. Except in cases of health challenges, let’s not raise socially awkward children.
Love this! Yes, and yes!

In the block next to where I live, under an overpass, a football court was built.
It is a public space, and there is a responsible person who organizes the place.
It is attended by adults, girls, and boys, and a football school was formed for children.
For safety reasons, generally, mothers and fathers usually drop off and pick up their children, as well also watch the practice.
Here at home, I hear their screams celebrating the goal!
When I pass by, I look, and I understand the IMPORTANCE of sport, arts, school, and work, in the social education of future functional adults.
These activities, especially sports, are great CATALYSTS of energy, they teach how to live with rules, develop skills, respect, and coexist with others, including adversaries.

God loves us and whatever creativity we have it comes from Him.
We should just honor Him in all.
I like your last remark and to live with their adversaries.
That’s a good one.
I would have never captured that one.
You brought out very well!

You make some good points here Evidence. God is creative and he made us that way as well. Many people never learn to tap into that creative power, but we can help by stirring up gifts in others.

Yes indeed, which is your area, coach.
I can pick from the tone of your blog that you can stir up and inspire people into greatness

God is amazing. Your blog on mastering self-expression did stir up a lot of memories about the work I did in Jamaica in poor, violent communities to get young people off the streets and into creative arts. In terms of coaching, I do focus on peopleβs calling and purpose to help them identify why they were created and to identify what God wants them to do. My husband said something to me this morning about what God has prompted him to do which again reminded me of this blog, although I never had the conversation with him. Either way, God is speaking by his spirit and as we continue he will make his will clear and make our paths straight. Bless you. Stay connected. ππΎ

Wow ,we thank God.
I am adopting a writing style where I ask God for wisdom to answer and demystify certain life issues through the lens of the Word of God.
At first, I thought it was not relevant to the body of Christ until now that I get these responses.
I also post on my Facebook , and the youth are appreciating these nuggets.
Thank you for that feedback !

Amen ππΎ. God is a creator God as in Genesis he created and then gave Adam the power to create, replenish and subdue. Adam lost some of that to the devil until Jesus took back that authority. We are all filled with power and the gifts are to manifest the kingdom. I think having grown up in a musical family and my Dad writes, I understand the power of creativity. My husband is also a musician, composer and I learn a lot from watching his creative processes. We are all sent here to create something. You created your book through writing as a creative expression of the wisdom that God gave you to reach different people. Bless you.
