We often fall down in life, I mean, we fail to uphold virtue and God’s commandments.
God Himself doesn’t expect us to remain down, but time, and again He directs us into a recovery path, and it’s found in the scripture below. Let’s jump in!
Genesis 3:8-11
8And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9Then, the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; I hid myself.”
[11]And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree, of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
From the scripture above, there are three questions you should answer for you to stand after a downfall.
Where are you?
Logically speaking, God is an all-knowing God. He knew where Adam and Eve were. He just wanted them to acknowledge that dispositionally they had shifted. You see saints, the recovery process will not be initiated until you acknowledge you have failed, I mean you yourself have to witness that indeed you are not where you used to be, but some things have changed. If it is prayer life, your passion for the things of God or influence you have lost, you have to realize it first.
Who told you?
This one is very key, Normally God confirms who you are and what you are capable of doing. But the enemy comes and question what God would have said. Presently, we are still strong and expectant as we start the year. We are so sure of what we want to do. Along the way, we start to entertain whispers from the devil, and we start to doubt God and embark on canal thoughts. The scenario of Peter walking on water is coming to my mind, right now:
Mathew14:28-30
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
The word to Peter was COME and for a moment, it worked, but when the waves started communicating fear to him, he took heed of them and ignored the voice of Jesus Christ, come!
So realizing that there is a voice which countered the word of God is key for your recovery from a fallen state.
Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat? This question makes you to see where exactly you have lost it. This is important not only for you to recover from this current failed state but to live a victorious life by separating the voice of the enemy from the voice of God.
Ephesians 6:13
So put on all the armor that God gives. Then, when that evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.
God is expecting you and me to remain standing even after the crisis.
Thank you so much.
God bless you.
Have a beautiful year!

Faith is the substance of things not seen. . . as I read the post, I got reminded by this scripture from Hebrews 11:1 as I paraphrased it.

A great suggestion, to ask ourselves, in self-examination, the same questions God asked Adam and Eve.
