The mystery of money

We continue with our series. And today I want to start with a question that I want you to think about prayerfully.

Why is it that Bill Gates can form a foundation, that is Bill Gates foundation and invite his friends to give into it, not 20usd or 50 USD but billions of dollars, and he is not attacked but praised for it. Yet, the pastor tries to do the same drive to raise a fund for sending missionaries out, building fund for the church etc., All for winning souls for Christ, he gets all forms of attacks? Is the church not allowed to use relational capital?

Whilst you are getting your head around that question, let me define certain terms that will make my assignment easier today.

Money
Money is a medium of exchange. It started as barter trade, then seashells, and at some point our forefathers were using gold and silver as medium of exchange and store of value.
But now we have money, which is a fiat. Money is potentially good if not put to use. Until it’s channelled to a godly cause, it remains useless or potentially evil.

Currency
Currency is what we use to transact. This is when money is put into circulation or spend. That’s why hoarding money is disastrous to any economy, even in the spiritual economy it’s equally true.
So, in short, money turns into currency when it’s spend.

Capital
This is when money is assigned to a business venture or an economic activity that brings a return on that investment.
Now for you to appreciate the relevance of this particular post, you have to understand that the natural economic system is not as natural as you think it’s very spiritual, but it’s subjected and dominated by the devil. The bible calls it the Babylonian system.
This system is very oppressive and rewards more economic value to entertainment ,those things that doesn’t add value.
It’s a system where teachers, preachers, nurse etc , are less appreciated than a Hollywood porn star or boxer. The people who add value to the ecosystem are taxed more than the twisted. It’s a system that creates social classes based on riches, gender, race, and tribes.

No one is at peace, even the rich feel guilt for having that system that rewards them for nothing whilst people who deserve to be appreciated wallow in lack. It’s a system that cheats people out of their purposes and rewards them with money.

God is calling His children to get out of any Babylonian economic system and hence these scriptures

Revelation 18:1-4
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

The world is also driven by forces like pride, lust and greed and check this verse

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 Jn. 2:15–17.)

To understand this transition to shift from the Babylonian economic system we are in currently into the Kingdom of God’s Economy, we have to understand why we work.
We have to understand that we don’t work for money, but we work for what money can afford us. I mean you are working so that your vision is funded or to advance your purpose which must be synchronized or submitted to God. So, what you are getting as salary, is it enough for your vision to roll out?
If not, then we have to accept God’s invitation as below.

Isaiah 55:1-2
1Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters, And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
2Why, do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

God wants us not to be limited in life by money or lack of it, especially those who have received Him and His Son Jesus Christ as their Lord.
The scriptures say come buy, though without money, but it didn’t say come get for free. Buy it means you have to offer something in order to get something. Scriptures have proven that the blessings of God are conditional, but His love is not. God gave everyone something they can offer, and they can convert that to wealth(milk and honey). If you get this in your system then the scripture that says him who has less even what he has will be taken from him becomes less abrasive.(You will actually enjoy it) let me just avail it.

Matthew 13:12
For whoever has, to him, more will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

A child is born with his/ her fist tightly closed, not with an open palm, for me, it’s a prophetic act that everyone is born with something they can use to advance their purpose here on earth.

Money is useless if it’s not converted into something or exchanged for something more valuable to you. Hence, they say poverty is not lack of money, but it’s the state of mind. There are people who keep or take care of the money instead of money taking care of them, these are the poorest in my opinion. Money is just a tool in the hands of a believer, if it’s treated highly than that then it becomes an Idol and a snare. Here is another truth, money doesn’t satisfy, but what you get with money is what satisfy you! When money is spent, it becomes a currency which is more powerful.

These are currencies we can use in the Kingdom of God.

Faith, Time, Tithes, Offering, First fruits, Pledge, or a Vow, Seed, Sacrifice, Grace, Thoughts or Ideas, Alms, Words, talents, skills and gift

Money in the hands of an unbeliever does not intimidate the devil, but when a believer gets his hands on it, there is tremendous fear that comes upon the kingdom of darkness

That’s why God is more interested in the wealth transfer from sons of wickedness to the righteous, do you know why? Because it’s a perfect set-up for the end time harvest of souls into the Kingdom of light.

In my next Installment, I will explore the mystery of kingdom currencies and how we can advance our purposes and synchronize those purposes to the end time harvest through those currencies.

Thank you brother that scripture 2 Corinthians 9 is powerful I like it upto vs 8…Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.8 And God is ableto bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

God will bless us that we will be able to about in good works.
May we grow in this grace of giving.

Remember the word in Genesis 47:13-20 (Genesis chapters 41-47)?
There were the 7 years of great harvest followed by 7 years of great famine.
The people were fine as long as they had currency for grain, but when their money and cattle were used up to buy grain they only had their land and bodies.
So Joseph bought them and their land, and he fed them throughout the famine.
How many times have we come to Christ without exhausting that currency that he’s looking for?
You have a unique perspective. For the honor or God.
    God bless you.

It’s interesting that we will spend our energy and strength to do the physical work to earn material means, most of us without any resistance. We either work for the paycheck, or we take ownership of our duties for things that will pass away.

But for the eternal Kingdom, how many of us will truly exhaust ourselves no matter the cost?

        Jesus said…

        Luke 14:28
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

It’s really not about a tower, it’s about our own life in the kingdom. Is there really any cost too high for that?

        This life passes away…

        1 Timothy 6:6-7
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

We see it whenever we attend a funeral. We might wonder if they really got what they bargained for.

Amazing insight and concepts that most believers are still trying to wrap their heads around. We are only destroyed by lack of knowledge, but if we seek wisdom and hold firmly to her, then we will not be destroyed. Money and the church is such a contentious topic for many people and it is the devil who suggests that Christians should be poor. Imagine that even some Christians subscribe to and supports this notion. God help us! 🙏🏾

The devil wants to remain in charge of the universal economics and a church that is generous is a threat to him.
Let’s pray for the grace that was about the church of Marcedonia

      2 Corinthians 8:1-6
, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: 2that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. 3For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing, 4imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. 5And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. 6So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well

My husband often says the we don’t want money- we want ‘stuff.’ Money is only the vehicle through which we acquire the ‘stuff.’ But I think we need to use our ‘dollars’ and our ‘stuff’ for kingdom building- whether it be in the church, or providing housing, and counseling, etc. No matter what that industry may be- when we put God first, and do it for kingdom building, He will prosper it and multiply it for His Glory!!
